USING ROBO-AO TO VERIFY EXOPLANETS

This timelapse video (from Christoph Baranec, Robo-AO PI) shows Robo-AO using its laser to target planet candidates identified by NASA’s Kepler mission. Graduate Student Carl Zeigler, his advisor Professor Nick Law, and collaborators at Princeton & Hawaii are using these results to confirm thousands of exoplanet candidates and to explore the effects of stellar companions on planetary formation.
