“Preparing For The UNCLE Survey”
Here I will go over the amazing dilemma of having millions of transients being found by LSST. I will discuss how the philosophy of spectroscopic follow-up needs to change to keep up with wide-area photometric surveys. I will go over one type of science case already being done, using SOAR for the Foundation survey to build the largest low-redshift Type Ia supernova sample that is currently the rate-limiting step of measuring dark energy. I will then discuss even more ambitious plans, and go over the UNCLE survey.
