“A Naturally Light Dilaton”
The spontaneous breaking of scale invariance is quite interesting for particle physics, since it could provide a light dilaton. Such a particle would have properties very similar to the Higgs boson, and could also play a role in reducing the cosmological constant. I will discuss the difficulties in obtaining a light dilaton, and discuss a 5D construction in warped space where this could actually happen.
