The laws of the quantum rule the submicroscopic world. But the action of quantum mechanics in the big bang world also produced the largest structures in the cosmos. This connection between the quantum and the cosmos may explain the nature of the dark matter holding together our galaxy and the mysterious dark energy tearing apart our universe, as well as producing the cosmic seeds of structure that grew to produce everything we see in the cosmos.
