Teaching Requirements

PhD graduate students in our department are expected to demonstrate at least one year (2 semesters) of satisfactory teaching experience before graduating. This could include teaching experience prior to joining our department. Determination of adequate teaching experience is made by the Director of Graduate Studies in consultation with the Director of Undergraduate Laboratories. New Teaching Assistants (TAs) are required to take the one-credit TA seminar (PHYS 510).
