BMS flux-balance laws: a connection between asymptotic symmetries and GW theory

I will first outline the main steps to derive the asymptotic symmetry group in GR, known as the BMS group. Then, I will describe a derivation of BMS flux-balance laws from first principles and show the interplay among BMS generators, phase space data and Einstein’s equations. Finally, I will perform a post-Newtonian expansion of these BMS flux-balance laws and show a global conservation law for a binary system of two Kerr black holes.
