UNC-CH Physics and Astronomy Commencement Ceremony

The Physics and Astronomy Spring 2020 Commencement ceremony is scheduled for May 10^th, 2020 at 1PM in Chapman 211. This ceremony is honoring undergraduates and graduate students completing their degrees in Summer 2019, Fall 2019, Spring 2020, Summer 2020, and Fall 2020, as well as the Spring 2020 award winners.

Immediately following the graduation ceremony at 2PM, we will host our Physics and Astronomy Commencement Reception in Phillips Hall 277 & 275. This event will be catered with gluten-free, nut-free, and vegan options and all graduates and their guests are welcome to attend.

Each graduate will be allotted 3 tickets for family and friends which can be picked up from Jhon Cimmino’s office, Phillips 280. Hours are generally Mon-Fri 8A-4P. You yourself will not need a ticket to attend. The deadline to claim your tickets is Monday, May 4^th at 9AM. Starting that Monday, graduates that have requested more than 3 tickets may come to my office to claim additional tickets based on remaining available space.

All undergraduate students are expected to complete the Graduate Information Form in order to claim their tickets for the ceremony. This information is extremely useful to us in tracking the growth and progress of our students to share with future generations of undergraduates.

Since Sunday morning, May 10^th, is also the University’s Commencement, please see their website for information on general campus accessibility & parking.
